We go away camping alterative weekends, this time we decided to go down towards High Wycombe / Slough area, so did a quick Google search and found one called Treetops Campsite. As we had left it late organising it we rang up on the Thursday evening, a nice gentleman answered the phone asked about a pitch for Friday and Saturday night, he said they were busy but would fit us in. Price at the time of us going was £15 per night, though he said going up soon, but only a bit, as coming to peak season.
We couldn’t get to the campsite until about midday. I knew of a model village close by called Bekonscot In Beaconsfield. So we went there first. By using the postcode for the campsite we found the road called Gregory’s Road, though was just a normal street though at end was two sets of gates both locked with no parking signs on them. at the time we didn’t realise the first gate was access to the campsite. Using Google maps could see the campsite was there, so we drove around to see if could find an entrance. Got back to the gates and noticed a smaller sign saying campsite.. You have to go to the house to the left to book in. As this is run by a lovely couple. they give you a key to open the gate, so when you go out out take the key so you can unlock and lock the gate.
As you drive through it opens up into a well kept field. there are electric hook up points. Though for us we don’t need that. There is a gazebo / shelter with a bench. this is for use for all the guests. We chose a pitch with a bit of shelter at the back and looking out onto the main field. As a small wooded area, again a few bench’s around.
There are two toilets and one shower, which is 50p per use (lasts approx 10mins). Also a washing up area, there is a fridge as well as a kettle even with tea and coffee, which I though was nice even though we use a gas shove for our drinks etc. also a hairdryer. So just enough. If busy though would expect you could have to wait for the toilet or shower.
If you come out of the road and turn to the right there is a small shop with post office, though this closes around 7pm and just down the road there is a nice little pub called The White Horse that serves different cask beers. Also great for me they do non acholic drinks, as I can’t drink because of medication. the pub is only about a 10mins walk from the campsite. They have a really nice beer garden with ample seating.
The campsite is lovely and quiet though as I said there was two gates the other is for a scout campsite, so can be a bit noisy from the kids if any scout groups are camping, though not too much noise. We use a campsite as a base to go visit different places as members of national trust and English Heritage. A 5 minute drive you are in the village of Farnham which has a few pubs and also a small Tesco and Sainsburys. So for use this was a great location.
We really enjoyed our trip and the Treetops Campsite was great and couldn’t fault it. So if you want a nice small campsite site in this area I would definitely recommend Treetops campsite. They don’t have a website but here are the contact details : Gregory Rd, Hedgerley, Slough SL2 3XL , Tel: 01753 642908.
