My Visit to Pelsall Carnival 2024 & Watch PARADE

Pelsall carnival is a yearly event normally the first weekend in July. I normally just go to the carboot that is on and not stop for all the other stuff, as this is more family orientated and now my daughter is grown up, really haven’t stopped for the festivities in years , but this year thought I would vlog about it for my YouTube channel watch video above.

Unfortunately the weather forecast wasn’t the best had been raining the night before and was forecast showers most of the day. I parked in the official carpark on one of the grass areas this cost just £2 for the whole day and that money goes to fund the next year’s event.

I had arrived around 8am the car boot had stated at 7, the way the stalls are set out is around the green then normally rows in the middle. This year there was stalls around the edge and only a few in the middle, normally this car boot is really busy. I think it was the treat of rain that put people off. I walked round I didn’t really get anything other than 2 dolphin ornaments as the missus collects them. Though this isn’t as bad as a few years ago was raining that day, but there were only half the amount of this day and then the heavens opened up and didn’t stop.

I drove in my Peugeot partner micro camper that I converted myself 3 years ago, this meant that I could go back to the car and make a drink and relax for a bit as the craft stalls etc in other part of the green didn’t start until 10. Now having the camper is great for this especially for me as I have mobility problems so enables me to have a rest for a bit.

I then went around the other part, there was a few classic cars and varying craft stalls, charity tombola’s, sign up for cadets etc and a few general stalls, nothing of interest for me, so I walked down the high street to get something from the bakery and then went back to the camper again, as the live music, dance group etc, dog show and even the funfair didn’t open for a bit longer and the main parade didn’t start until 1.45pm.

I did go back out and watched a few of the dance performers and had a look around the funfair, though I now feel to old for that stuff and to be honest my back wouldn’t survive any of the rides 😂

I waited around for the dog show, watched for a few minutes then went by the road as people were congregating waiting for the parade, I got talking to a few people, which was nice to see people out and about enjoying the day. The parade in the end was around half an hour late, but was enjoyable watching the lovely decorated floats. If you haven’t watch the video above you can see the whole parade.

After the parade I left though there was still dance shows , music etc and the funfair going on into the night, but personally I did enjoy this local event.

Hope you enjoyed reading and watching the video, if you want to see more of me (though that debatable 😁) well mainly me out doing photography visiting places and giving you info about having a little camper van why not SUBSCRIBE to my YouTube channel or follower this blog.
