We just went to the Waterfront Pub at the Barton marina in Barton under needwood as was seeing family at the pub, I myself have never been to the Barton Marina, The Marina has a few specialist shops inc aswell as The Waterfront pub, Thai Marina restaurant and the Apple Tree coffee shop & delicatessen. The waterfront pub also has live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays.
Unfortunatly we went on Easter Sunday and the weather wasnt the best as was a bit wet, it would be great to go again in the summer when the weather is better as would be nice to relax with a pint or a coffee as there is loads of seating on the marina.
The shops “Toys of yesteryear” is a great shop to visit as you can buy the latest toys and vintage toys to suit every one both kids and adults. The upstairs of the toy shop is a toy museum, price is just £2.00 for adults and all accompanying children are free. It was great to see toys from my childhood and the kids enjoyed looking around, if you go to the Barton marina it is well worth a visit.
You can also walk around the lake and in the woodlands, again this would be great to have a look and walk around when we have better weather, as the marina is situated on the Trent & Mersey canal. There are also several boats that have different things going on including “The Mug Tug” where both adults and children can paint and decorate various items for a charge, also there is an estate agents “Parker Hall” which is there seven days a week.
See below for some of the pictures from around the marina and the toy museum, sorry about the quality as they was taken of my mobile phone, when we go again in the summer will add some better photos.
