After the release of the C64 mini, Retro games Ltd have now announced the Amiga 500 mini, with a list of 12 confirmined games out of 25. The Amiga 500 was the computer I grew up with and loved. Even in my first job selling the Amiga range until they were discontinued.

It comes with an original style 2 button mouse and a 8 button gamepad that looks like the CD32 gamepad. It can emulate the original a500 chipset and also the Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) of the A1200. The games can be selected from a carousel style launcher, with save states. The one great thing is you can sideload games from a USB stick using WHDload, this will make it a great emulation unit if you want the original look, in the box you also get a usb-c and hdmi cable.

The cost of this when release in 2022 will be £119.99. See Retro game Ltd website for details HERE,  there are some good games I loved especially pinball dreams, I spent hour upon hour playing that and the sequal, as well as alien breed and speedball 2. As like a lot of these mini consoles many of the games we remember cant be on them due to licences ie lemmings the ip for that was taken over by Sony and there is no way they would give permission for something like this. That’s where the WHDload facility comes in, as I you do have the roms you can put them on, though again from a legal stand point this can be a bit iffy, like all emulation really.

I may try and get one of these on launch , though like a lot of these they get sold out quick them put on ebay for inflated prices. But it would be nice to get one instead of a raspberry pie in a 3d printed case.
