Here are a few photos from our annual Christmas house display lights. This year I haven’t put as much up as we would normally do. For the past few years as our house is on the edge of a road we have both the front of the house aswell as the side.

I normally build a shelf system on the inside of the fence to put different displays on. This year unfortunately due to work etc I haven’t had time to repair the struts that normally hold this up, as some of these were one my father had built years ago, so really all need replacing. So for the back this year have just put up a few rope light silhouettes secured to the fence and put two rope lights along the top. Again I have loads of rope lights but they have got sections out and again this was a job to do earlier in the year, but just never got round to it. So hopefully should get them sorted for next year 🙂

For the back this year to illuminate the wall I got one of these laser light projectors and set that up in the back, it work well, so will be getting a few more to set them up for the main side of the house next year, I have wrote a quick review on these projectors HERE

The front of the house is about the same as previous years just moved a few things around and added new snowflake lights within the windows and a few other sets of lights. Again I have more sets of lights that either need repairing or sorting out transformers. To be honest this year wasn’t even sure was going to put anything up. Its not that I don’t enjoying doing this I really do, but for some reason this year my heart wasn’t fully into it.

Next year I will be doing a better display as the front garden is being landscaped, with shrubs, rockery and water features so will have more scope to do things a bit different and hopefully will get round to sorting the struts and lights etc.

INSIDE

As we have had a major move around in the living room, we have got the xmas tree in a different place and using the sideboard as usual we have a Christmas village scene. Though as I was taking the photos I realised I have more that brought of car boots etc throughout the year that I haven’t put up, but really the sideboard is looking a bit full so again next year will have to build extra shelving to display them all.

All in all even though not put as much out this year, outside I would say about half the stuff I have got, it still looks nice and its great that the kids that walk past to the school love it, even though my daughter is a bit embarrassed with it though she is 16 🙂
