As i was driving back today, noticed a group of about 7 deer just of the chester road north in Brownhills common, this is the second time i have a seen a group of them on there in the last few weeks. The other week driving back at 1:50 in the morning a group of about 6 run across the chester road from one side of Brownhills common to the other about 50yrds in front of my car.
They looked like the females that i seen today, the other week I seen them there was a large stag aswell, though because was driving didnt get a real good look at them.
Today I did get the camera to try and get some shots of them, but could get that close, here are 2 shots, and before anyone comments, I know they arn’t that good as I couldn’t get close enough, but the reason for posting that it is nice to know there are still some large deer in Brownhills common, i did try to follow the deer and walked into the very muddy part of the common, but could get any more shot. Though you can see alot of tracks where they have been across there.
So good to know the deer are still there after the harsh winter we have had so far.
UPDATE: forgot to credit my father for reminding me to look out for the deer on the common.

Update 2013, plans to cut back brownhills common is as far as i know to go ahead
Hi Kevin
Seen these deer today 14/01/12 about 2.30 in the afternoon, across the canal at Coppice Side, just off the Pelsall Road by the Swan Pub. They stood there for ages whilst me and my dog and another couple out walking watched them from the other side of the canal. So engaging – never seen any deer this close before! There seemed to be about 7 or 8 of them.
