Brownhills Methodist Church Xmas Tree Festival

Just a quick post about the Brownhills Methodist Church Christmas tree festival, which is open Friday 9th and Saturday 10th December 2011 between 9am – 3pm.  The service and switching on the lights was on Thursday 8th, I went last year again I went this year, im not really religious but was a nice service with four different song that we sang, there was a choir that did 3 different songs, the normal Deacon of the church wasn’t there to do the service as she was recovering from a operation, have a swift recovery Anne. The main sermon was very interesting  part was the history of the Christmas tree and it meanings.

The Major & Mayoress of Walsall was there with the switching on of the lights and a speech. Also Richard Sheperd MP was there who again gave a speech. So all in all a good night, again this year it was literary standing room only. There are at least 25 decorated trees on display some sponsored by local businesses, individual also the local Brownie and Girl Guides groups. The money raised goes to two charities one in Walsall Wood that helps disabled people and The Swing again a Walsall Charity that helps children get over bereavement. So both charities are local and for good causes.

So if you are around Brownhills over the next 2 days pop in to the Methodist church on silver street, to see the trees. On Saturday 10th there is also a mini market, so it would be worth a visit.

Below are some of the photos I took on the night, because I a have the panoramic view at the top of the post that shows all the Christmas trees within the main church the following photos are edited with different effects, so gives you a different perspective on the xmas trees.
