I love photography and Christmas with all the decorations , lights etc out these make a great subject for some unusual photos.
I have done a video giving you photo ideas that are easy to try, even though these kinds of images are sometimes done to death, but if your like me it’s not just the final image you take, the process and the enjoyment you get out of taking that perfect photo.

As everyone has a different way and styles for christmas decorations, so my ideas may not work for you, but the one thing everyone normally has is a christmas tree, so this is a great place to start. From concentrating on individual baubles or even a cluster especially with the lights and tinsel behind.
The lights on the tree can also make a nice image from making the lights out of focus, so you can just see the orbs and the shape of the tree. You can also try some ICM (intentional camera movement) photography, set your shutter for a longer exposure and move the camera around, this can make some very unusual images.
For me I have a lot of crystal see through type of ornaments, with these sometimes is it good to just concentrate on the smaller details. With mine i have lights around and under the fake snow, so with the lights these can shine through the details.
Even just tinsel on its own can make a nice image especially if you have lights shining on or around it. This can even work best with just one colour of tinsel or even better multi coloured tinsel.
The best thing is just look around the decorations you have and find something that interests you and just have fun taking photos. Below are some of the photos I have taken, they are not perfect as was trying to get them done for the video. I the video you can see the full images.
