For the operation of a waterfall the pump simply sucks water in and pumps it up through a hosepipe which leads to the top of a waterfall. The water then flows down the waterfall to the pond and the process is repeated.
The operation of a fountain ornament is very similar. The pump sends water through the hose which is connected to the bottom of the ornament. It sends the water up the ornament often Out of a fountain spray. The water then returns to the pond. In the case of fountain jets, the pump is supported near the surface of the water allowing the fountain jet to break the water surface. The pump sucks in the water and sprays it out through the jet. The water then drops back into the pond

SUBMERSIBLE USE
This is the easiest method of installation.
Simply put the pump in the water and run the electrical cable to a convenient position outside the pool, where it is connected to waterproof extension cable by means of a waterproof cable connector. Our Waterproof Cable Connector is an essential piece of equipment here. It is a plug and socket set with a blank supplied. So if you want to take your pump out of the water during the winter months you simply remove the plug and insert the blank without having to disconnect any wiring.

We do not recommend weatherproof cable connectors.
The extension cable is then run to the most convenient earthed electrical point. The cable is best located in conduit or old hosepipe and buried beneath a path or lawn where you are never likely to put a fork through it! It is advisable with any electric appliance in the garden to use a circuit breaker. If in doubt consult an electrician. If you have pumps and Lights to connect, then the Garden safe Multiswitch is the deal junction box to use.

NON-SUBMERSIBLE USE
(AMPHIBIOUS ONLY)
The pump is situated at the side of the pool in suitable ventilated housing, out of the reach of children and away from sunlight. Simply connect an AMPHIBIOUS Non-Submersible Kit to the pump inlet to obtain the prime. The kit, comprising AMPHIBIOUS suction pipe, non-return valve and fittings does not come with the pump. Full instructions come with the pump.

1. Delivery to waterfall
2. Ventilated pump housing
3. Delivery to fountain ornament
4. Amphibious suction pipe
5. Amphibious non-return valve (under water)

An absolute must when installing your AMPHIBIOUS and BUDGET pumps, is to fit the AMPHIBIOUS Inpool Foam Filter which will service pools up to 200 Gallons. It is practical, economical and will prolong the life of the pump.

Nice article but what about filtering? Wouldn’t it be good to have a better filtering solution than just the filters which are included in some submersible pumps?
