John Bull’s World of rock is situated about 2 miles just outside of Bridlington, North Yorkshire. Admission prices are £2.50 adults, £2.00 children and is open term time 11am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday and in the holidays same days but 10:30 – 3:45.

We went through the main shop to go round the attraction, though there is another entrance just for the attraction this does depend on the time of year. Once you go through the main entrance you are in part of the factory that makes the rock, around the main wall are some nice murals of seaside scenes, which looks like pier. The other side is a rail with shelf all the way round, this is where you can make your own rock with a letter thru the middle of the rock, there is a small charge for this. All three of our kids did make their own rock and did really enjoy it, they roll out the mixture for you and you put it together with the letter of your choice roll it out and your done.

Next there is a display of an old street showing what one of the shops would have looked like years ago, and then a display with audio of kitchen from when John bull started making rock and sweets etc. You then go through other parts of the factory seeing how they make other sweets and chocolates. You can make your chocolate lolly again there is a small charge for this and have to wait a few minutes after making for the chocolate to cool down.

All around the factory there are samples that you can try i.e. rock, Yorkshire biscuits, sweets and Belgium chocolate etc. Now myself I’m a chocalohic so seeing the production line of all the chocolate products was great, like when we went to Cadbury world Birmingham.

There is also a room with all different facts about the john bull company aswell as confectionary. If you get the quiz for the kids when you go in, you will need to read the info as this does give the answers to some of the questions. Do remember this is a working factory do sometimes whole walking into the different sections can look like there is not much going on but this is what happens in a normal production line factory.

The shop does great souvenirs and also mis-shaped rock and the best thing for me was the mis-shapes of chocolate. This were a very good price and I myself came away with a few large bags of mis-shaped chocs (perfect for a chocoholic 🙂 There is a full range of confectionary and chocolates to buy, there also is a cafe to enjoy drinks and cake etc. Prices of the normal chocolate and other confectionary products are also at a good price and really Gorgeous.

We had a nice time visiting John Bull’s World of rock, the kids did enjoy making there own rock and chocolate lolly. It is very interesting to see the full production lines off all the confectionary, biscuits etc that the factory produces. The smells of all of this is great as you walk around. It was also very interesting knowing about the history and how they products are made. I would recommend going it takes about an hour of so so to fully walk around and enjoy the attraction and for the price is great value for money. Some off the photos I had taken are below.
