Yesterday was my birthday 9th august so we went out for a meal with the kids, we decided on the Hussey Arms on chester road brownhills, as we live close by. I have been to the hussey arms in all its incarnations over the years including when was the spaghetti factory and at this time I met a previous girlfriend on first date, then she said was our pub as shouldn’t go with anyone else 🙂 . Then was back to the normal pub but like all pubs few years ago was suffering with trade so they tried doing meals at just £1 for each course, now i used to come down with my partner at the time as to be honest was cheaper than cooking at home. But this had its disadvantages for trade as most people including myself would come in get a drink then order meal have the meal and finish whatever drink you had then would leave.

Then after about a year or so doing this the pub closed down, then was refurbished and opened back up under the hungry horse chain of pubs. This was now a family friendly pub with a small play area out the back and small basketball court, with good seating outside. We have been for meals and drink before after was refurbished, as in the nice weather is great to sit outside with a nice pint and the kids can play, below is my experience on my birthday.

We sat towards the back of the pub by the rear entrance in one of the booths, now i have never sat here before and i hadn’t noticed there are small tv’s in the wall, which 8 think is great for the kids. My partner had the lamb shank, my daughter had the gammon and the youngest had a kids meal of chicken nuggets. The kids meal you can choose a main, side and extra for £2.99. I had one of the specials which was a double burger with loads of bacon and orion ring all 20 of them. The meals tasted great and was good value for money. Drink prices are good as well. The deserts were nice though I don’t have one myself as I was really full after my meal, though my daughter did say we will have to come again as long as they don’t change the puddings. You can see the official page for the pub including special offers and menu by clicking HERE.

As being a Friday night was busy but service was great, the couple next to us did have a slight problem with there steak but the staff was really helpful and was sorted. Now normally I only write about days out we have but thought I would write this about the pub, as we did enjoy the meal and is rally a nice pub.
