We decided one day last year to go to the national Brewery Centre in Burton-upon-Trent. One reason was we had a £10 Tesco exchange voucher left over and this could be used against the entry price here, for more info on the Tesco days out exchange click HERE. Though entry price is reasonable at £7.95 Adult, £4.95 Child or a Family Ticket £20 (up to 5 people max 2 adults) Price for adults includes a 4 beer sample tasting voucher.

The Brewery Museum is just walking distance outside the main city centre, there is a free car park. Just as you enter the museum you can see a interactive video, and telling you the history of brewing beer over the years. Then you see parts of the machinery that was used in the history of brewing with an old office of what would be the first clocking in office, there is loads to see in this section

There is the stream engine room, that has a fully working Robey steam engine, this is run only at weekend and on bank holidays (except during the winter months), The Volunteers the day we went let the kids pull the stream release valve, which the kids loved hearing the whistling noise.

There is a large collections of vehicles that can be seen from old horse drawn drays to modern day vehicles some great individual ones shaped like beer bottles etc , also fire trucks and buses. All of the vehicles are looked after by volunteers. There are also the stables with shires horses though these are only there between beginning of April till the end of September, you may even be able to have a short cartridge ride around the museum. There is a good display of traditional drays (carts).

Within the main bass museum there is a great large model of the area at the night of the rail network, this has very detailed buildings etc and full workings trains, now anyone that knows or reads my blog of love models like this and this was one was great.

The Beer sample vouchers can be exchanged in the Brewery Tap bar and restaurant, the vouchers can be exchanged for a pint of any of the speciality beers or 4 sample drinks, for the kids the 4 vouchers can be exchanged for a soft drink.

We and a great time at the brewing experience museum in Burton upon Trent, we spent a good few hours looking around and be a use they do quiz sheets for the kids which means they enjoy looking around it is a great place for all the family, it is worth a visit if you are in the area or judging going to look around the museum.
