Lego Creator, City & Atlantis

In late 2010 the mirror gave away Lego toys each day for 12 days between October 23rd – November 3rd, they were out of the Lego Creator, City & Atlantis ranges. You had to collect them with the token that was in the paper from either WH Smiths or Toys R Us, unfortunately for me neither of these shops were easy local. But you could collect 8 tokens and then send off with a cheque for £8.99 to cover the postage and packaging.

A few weeks before Christmas they all arrived, myself I only made up two of them as there was a snowman and Christmas tree, so I used these for some photos for promotional use over Christmas. The others I let my daughter make up when she was stopping with me over the Christmas Holiday. Which She really did enjoy making the sets up.

The complete set comprised of 10 Lego sets listed below:

7808 – Yellow Airplane

30008 – Snowman

30009 – Christmas Tree

30010 – Fire Chief Car With Fireman Minifig

30011 – Police Boat With Policeman Minifig

30012 – Microlight / Hoverplane / Glider With Minifig

30013 – Police Quad Bike With Policeman Minifig

30021 – Parrot

30041 – Piranha

30042 – Mini Sub With Scuba Driver Minifig

There was also a cardboard carry case / box & a large printed paper playmat with the set offer.

The sets are pretty good, you did get a few spares in each set, For me I only collected them for a bit of fun, I used to love lego as a kid so took me back to my childhood 🙂 The sets would have been useful for anyone that collects or need the minifigs that came with some of the sets, and aslo some of the sets came with unusual or hard to get pieces. Each set had around 20 – 40 pieces.

If you was just collecting the tokens and daily sets each day locally this offer is great value as you have to equate the price of the paper each day, and like me I don’t normally buy a daily paper, but having to pay £8.99 for the p&p, which to be honest, the cost of postage and the jiffy bag they was delivered in was now where near that cost. But really the total cost for me per set would have been around £1.30 – £1.40. so good value.

This was the second Lego offer the Daily & Sunday Mirror did in 2010, the first one was the Lego racers offer click HERE for details. So as a guess they may do the same offers in 2011, so look out for them.

For the photos for each of these sets I tried to do them with a theme for each of the models, I got the idea when I used the Christmas tree & snowman ones for photos, so take a look at the images below, or you can see my full photo albums form clicking on the menu link above.
